Various myths or stories exist.

She is Roman martyr who was killed in Sicily around 180 AD through Emperor Marcus Aurelius after her husband and brother in law were killed.

The legend has it that she was slashed three times on the neck by a sword and that she continued to live for three days. She asked the Pope to convert her home to a church.
