Zig and Zag down the roads skirting the Gulf of Mexico from the Texas border to Tabasco and the bridge to the Yucatan Peninsula.

A drive that seems to change vistas every other day. Beach and sand to town and city. Pyramids to nuevo city scapes.

This route boasts a variety of lesser known resort communities and accommodations.  Something for everyone.

La Pesca, while somewhat off the beaten track, is worth the hour long detour to discover a simple but authentic Mexican fishing/resort town. It offers free beach camping, RV Camping and a fishing/water toy resort that caters to families.

El Tajin performers whirl and twirl a hundred or so feet in the air. This amazing aerial display is performed outside a remarkable ancient ruins. It is well worth visiting on your way down the coastal route.

The beach community of Nautla is an RV and campers haven. It offers simple tent and cabana camping as well as RV Parks that offer Americanized services and sites. String out a hammock or drive through those pull thus and pull out that slide-out.

The Cities of CD Victoria and Veracruz or the town of Catematco. Each has their own offerings from shopping to tourist attractions. Stay in Balnearos or water parks and enjoy the activities and wholesome fun while staying near "centro."

The Gulf Coast is a journey that offers both variety of accommodation and variety of interest. Enjoy.

On The Road In is an interactive travel guide. After your visit write us and let us know about your wonderful discoveries. Correct our prices. Share your favorite restaurants, motels, hotels, and watering holes along the way. Add a comment or two about a town you discovered.
